A Founder with OOMPH!
Amy Hirschberg is more than just the
President of OOMPH®; she's the very personification
of the word. (One meeting with Amy and you'll easily understand
why.) Amy earned her bachelor's degree in advertising from
Syracuse University's acclaimed S.I. Newhouse School of Public
Communications. After graduation, she began a 14-year, award-winning
copywriting career working for some of New York's most respected
consumer advertising agencies, and with such clients as Procter
& Gamble, LifeSavers, and Clairol.
In the early ‘90s, Amy discovered the field of pharmaceutical
advertising, a field she is certain is her professional calling.
In this arena, Amy has found she can do exceptional work, while
educating others in ways that are meaningful to their lives.
During the last decade, she has brought vital information to millions
of patients about a multitude of conditions--from hepatitis A, acne,
actinic keratoses, AIDS, arthritis . . . and that's just the
A's! Amy has played a major role in numerous pharmaceutical
product launches to both physicians and consumers. She introduced
consumers to "the first prescription medicine that helps you get over
the flu and on with your life." As a result, Forest Labs learned that
humor really can enhance recall and results. Amy was
awarded both the Gold and Silver Rx Club Awards in 1996 for televi
sion
spots that introduced New Yorkers to one of their first managed
care options. Since then, she won awards for her work with Glaxo
Dermatology, Boehringer-Ingelheim, and most recently, ICN Pharmaceuticals.
While Amy remains flattered by the recognition that she's
received from her peers, she is more proud to know that her work
works, and has resulted in increased profits for her clients. Her
award-winning consumer launch of Flomax (a drug to relieve the symptoms
of a benign enlarged prostate) rewarded her client, Boehringer-Ingelheim,
with the number one prescription therapy in the category. Other
successes are described throughout the site.
